Thattukada Chicken Fry
Spicy kerala style chicken fry.
Prep Time: 2 hours
Cooking Time: 30 minutes
Serves: 2 to 3
Ingredients:
- Chicken,medium pieces – 450 to 500 gms
- Red chili flakes – 1 to 1.5 tsp( or according to taste)
- Curry leaves- 3 to 4 sprigs
- Green chili- 3 to 4
- Oil,for frying- as required
For masala paste:
- Kashmiri chili powder – 2 to 3 tsp(according to taste)
- Black pepper powder- 1 tsp
- Coriander powder- 1.5 tsp
- Turmeric powder- 1/2 tsp
- Fennel powder- 1/2 tsp
- Garam masala powder- 1/2 tsp
- Lime juice- from one small lime
- Ginger- 1 ” piece
- Garlic- 4 small cloves
- Curry leaves- 4 to 5
- Salt- to taste
- Water- as required
Instructions:
- In a blender combine together all the ingredients listed under ‘For masala paste’ ,grind to form a smooth paste.Rub this onto the chicken pieces along with the red chili flakes and curry leaves.Cover and refrigerate for about 2 to 4 hours.
- Shallow fry/deep fry the chicken over medium flame ,turning once or twice in between until it is cooked through and turns golden brown .Garnish with fried green chilies and curry leaves.Serve immediately.
NOTES
- Adjust the amount of kashmiri chili powder and chili flakes according to your taste.
