Coriander Chutney with coconut
Quick and easy coriander chutney for Idli/Dosa
Prep Time: 5 minutes .
Cooking Time: 5 minutes
Serves: 2 to 3
Ingredients:
- Shallots,sliced- 2 to 3
- Garlic,chopped – 2 cloves
- Green chilies,chopped- 2 or 3 (according to taste)
- Coriander leaves,chopped – 3/4 cup
- Grated coconut – 1/2 cup
- Tamarind – 1 generous pinch(or to taste)
- Water – as required
- Salt- to taste
- Oil- as required
For Tempering:
- Mustard Seeds- 1/2cup
- Red chilies ,cut into two- 1
- Curry leaves- 1 sprig
- Oil- as required
Instructions:
- Heat oil in a pan,add shallots,garlic and green chilies,saute until the raw smell leaves.Next add coriander leaves and stir well.
- Add the grated coconut and switch off the flame.Stir well ,add tamarind and salt to taste.Allow to cool slightly and transfer this into a blender along with sufficient quantity of water ,grind until smooth.
- Transfer the chutney into a serving bowl.For tempering,heat oil in a pan,add mustard seeds and let it splutter.Add dry red chilies and curry leaves.Saute for few seconds and pour this over the chutney.Serve with dosa or idli.
